On The Record, the new nightclub opening at the Park MGM opening on Dec. 28, already has plans for a speakeasy, karaoke night, and after parties for Lady Gaga’s residency at the resort and the Jon Jones UFC title fight. Now parent company Houston Hospitality out of Los Angeles gathered a lineup of top-notch bartenders to take over the venue’s intimate cocktail and music-driven Vinyl Parlor.
Bartenders-in-residency will include a rock star lineup, featuring Jillian Vose from Dead Rabbit in Manhattan, Alex Day and David Kaplan from Death & Co. in Manhattan, Jim Meehan from PDT in Manhattan, Pamela Wiznitzer from Henry at the Life Hotel in Manhattan, Ivy Mix from Leyenda in Brooklyn, Erick Castro from Polite Provisions in San Diego, Kevin Dietrich from P.C.H. in San Francisco, Ryan Fitzgerald from ABV in San Francisco, Josh Harris from The Bon Vivants in San Francisco, Simon Ford from Fords Gin, Aaron Polsky from Harvard & Stone in Los Angeles, Leo Robitschek from NoMad in Las Vegas, Daniel Marohnic from Corner Bar Management in Las Vegas, and Tony Abou-Ganim, among others.
The Vinyl Parlor only has room for 25 customers and features decor that pays homage to Jonnie and Mark Houston’s love of music nostalgia and vinyl. Iconic album covers displayed in wooden wall cases decorate the space.
These special guest bartenders will work behind the room’s petite bar, mixing their own song-inspired cocktails as well as a drink that speaks to a customer’s personal palate or mood.
Castro kicks of the residency Jan. 11-14 with Road to Nowhere, a concoction of Commerce Gin, lemon juice, pineapple juice, yellow Chartruese, honey syrup, orange bitters ,and a couple dashes of Absinthe. Jillian Vose will guest bartend Jan. 18-19 when she introduces her Psycho Killer with Redbreast 12-year-old Irish Whiskey, Absinthe, Campari, Giffard White Creme de Cacao, and Giffard Banane.
Other notable details for On The Record include a functioning record store entry, indoor and outdoor spaces, a double-decker bus DJ booth and bar on the patio, and hidden karaoke break room.
Hours of operation will be Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights from 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m.
