It has been a long journey for the Filipino fast food experts Jollibee’s move to southwest, but now comes word an opening date might be imminent.
Moving into a built-from-scratch, 3,200-square-foot site at the entrance to the Southwest Marketplace retail hub, the Philippine-based news service Inquirer.net is reporting the fast casual restaurant will now debut “on Christmas Day,” not far from Kulinarya Express Filipino Kitchen.
Located at the intersection of Windmill Lane and Rainbow Boulevard, Jollibee began initial hiring back in June for its counter-service and drive-thru menu of “Chickenjoy” fried chicken, spaghetti, “fiesta noodles,” peach mango pies, halo-halo desserts, and “breakfast joys.”
The company already operates inside the eastside’s Seafood City supermarket and at a smaller location at Village Square. Parent company Jollibee Foods Corp. is also now the owner of eight local Smashburger outlets, completing the purchase of the Denver-based burger chain earlier this month.
A fourth restaurant planned for Henderson, moving into the Eastern Commons retail center close to Seafood City, has yet to be announced or upgrade its construction status.
