Hungry westsiders looking for a new quick and casual destination can now sample the “modern Mexican food” from Red Jalapeños, prepared “with Grandma’s touch.”
The standalone 2,200-square-foot building with a drive-thru has previously been home to Camille By Manon and until this summer, Mr Poké Bowls & Rolls, located on Rainbow Boulevard, close to Sahara Avenue.
Working under the premise, “one jalapeño is not enough,” the menu features breakfast options including huevos divorciados, a “Traditional” section featuring tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and fajitas, “From the Sea” shrimp and fish choices, vegetarian roasted cauliflower tacos and “veggie fajitas”, and churros or flan for dessert.
The house specialties include “enchiladas de mole,” created with chicken or carnitas in rolled tortillas, served with an “OMG chocolate and chile sauce.”
Red Jalapeños, 2170 S. Rainbow Blvd., 702-371-7471. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
