Once April rolls around, Las Vegas joins the ranks of San Diego, Atlanta, Chicago, and Montreal with a cat cafe to call its own. Meow or Never announced plans to open at 80-100 E. California St. in the Arts District, diagonal from Esther’s Kitchen and down the street from the Downtown Corner Store.

Owner Rhiannon Gladney tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal that half of the 1,500-square-foot space, which is still under construction, will feature pastries and coffee, while the other half hosts a playroom for the cats. Diners can also play with the cats on an enclosed patio.

Between 15 and 20 cats will call this space their temporary home until they are adopted. Previously, Gladney wanted to focus on older black cats.

Patrons can pick up pastries, bought from outside vendors, or pour-over and cold-brew coffees.

An opening date was not announced.
