Fremont East lands its first chain restaurant with the opening of Eureka!, the American pub with craft beers and small-batch spirits out of Hawthorne, California.
The restaurant takes over the former home of the Downtown Beat in the Emergency Arts Building with room for 170 diners and a 5,000-square-foot patio. Inside, patrons sit in a space filled with industrial and modern touches.
Dishes include mac n’ cheese balls made with a beer cheese sauce and Fresno chiles for a kick; the cowboy burger topped with shoestring onions, bacon, cheddar cheese, and a beer barbecue sauce; the bone marrow burger with bone marrow shiitake butter, charbroiled onion, horseradish mustard aioli, roasted tomato, and grilled onion; skirt steak with grilled broccolini, red chimichurri, chili flakes, Parmesan, and lemon zest; and a bourbon barrel cake finished with pecans, caramel, and vanilla bean ice cream.
Weekends bring brunch with mimosas and bloody Marys for $5, steak n’ eggs, chilaquiles with ranchero tortilla chips and two eggs, and bead pudding French toast topped with blueberry compote and whiskey crème anglaise.
