In one of the more unusual local debuts, Stirfry Republic has closed in Spring Valley after only a few days of service, but promises it will return this spring after a “reorganization of the restaurant.”

The home of “modern Mongolian,” the casual concept is located at the Conrado Commercial Center, at 5587 S. Rainbow Blvd., neighboring Dickey’s Barbecue Pit and Bob Hut.

In an odd coincidence, a previous venture, Zhen Mongolian Fusion Grill, failed to debut in the exact same space back in 2015.

Stirfry Republic intends to break the curse and reopen in May. During its very brief run, the restaurant was only open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and gave customers the chance to create their own $8.90 stir-fry bowl with rice, or soup.

A base of fat, flat, wide, skinny, or chow noodles was first selected, then vegetables and proteins of beef, pork, chicken, fried tofu, or shrimp added.

Sides included Asian wings, pot stickers, sriracha fries and for dessert, “Indian roti rose,” or mochi balls. The restaurant also served Vietnamese iced coffee.

An exact return date has not been announced.
