A casual counter service spot dedicated to ono grindz, Kapuna Cafe has debuted in the northwest, calling itself the “home of mochi pancakes with coconut syrup!”
Taking over the shuttered site of Joe’s Island Grindz and Young’s Hawaiian Style Kitchen, this new concept is a family-owned and operated business with its roots in Oahu.
Located on the ground floor and right in the middle of the Red Feather retail center, close to the intersection of Decatur Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue, diners can grab a cup of the complimentary self-serve coffee with their pastry selections or try the “Aloha Breakfast” featuring “2 scoops of rice, 2 eggs, and 2 choice of meat Portuguese sausage, spam, bacon, or Vienna sausage” during breakfast hours until 11 a.m.
The Hawaiian fusion menu includes plate lunch favorites such as loco moco, chow fun, and chicken katsu, plus musubi, lumpia, zucchini sticks, a house saimin special and manapuas.
