The mystery of what will replace the shuttered Carson Avenue home of Zydeco Po-Boys and its short-lived successor Two Bald Brothers has been solved.
Robert Solano, former executive chef of Mingo Kitchen & Lounge, Mundo, and Olivia’s Latin Cuisine, will expand his Spring Valley Bomb Tacos into the 1,414-square-foot corner spot at 616 E. Carson Ave. It fills a slightly larger footprint than his original 1,000-square-foot hit concept that sits close to Other Mama and the corner of Durango Drive and Twain Avenue in the Global Plaza retail center.
Attached to the LLC behind the new venture, Jeffrey Fine of Fifth Street Gaming and Lev Restaurant Group. Fine’s last attempt at bringing an innovative menu downtown was the fondue-based failed experiment F. Pigalle on Fremont East.
On the Spring Valley menu, street-style tacos, crunchy taquitos, crispy quesadillas, wet burritos, and asada curly fries.
An estimated arrival date or concrete details of the project have yet to be announced.
