Breakfast and lunch specialists New Day Cafe has some big changes ahead that the restaurant has yet to make public, according to recently filed public documents.

Operating locations in Colorado Springs and Henderson, since 2012 the restaurant has been easy to find inside a distinctive, round-cornered space, close to the intersection of Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Bermuda Road.

Next on the horizon, the cafe will soon begin a tenant improvement four miles to the west at 10420 S. Decatur Blvd. The new southwest expansion inside the Cactus Marketplace retail hub on Decatur Boulevard and near Cactus Avenue will create a rival to the center’s DQ Grill & Chill Restaurant.

Uncovered earlier this month, later this year the Silverado Ranch site will be taken over by the first expansion for California’s Slater’s 50/50, the home of “Burgers, Bacon & Beer” and famous for its its half ground beef and half ground bacon burger patties.

New Day Cafe serves a full menu from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. of egg dishes, healthy omelets, waffles, pancakes, crepes, and French toast, plus familiar lunch choices, like burgers, sandwiches and wraps.

An estimated timetable for the switcheroos has not been revealed.
