The MGM Grand closes its Asian restaurant on Monday, Feb. 19. Grand Wok & Sushi Bar shutters Monday, Feb. 19, after a 19-year run at the resort.
The restaurant that sits right off the main casino floor features Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, and Vietnamese dishes. An open sushi bar, bamboo floors, and a private dining room enclosed with glass make up the restaurant. No word on what will replace the restaurant.
The closing comes on the heels of China Tang opening at the resort in January with Cantonese cuisine inspired by Sichuan, Shanghai, and Beijing regional favorites along with dim sum on the weekends. Hakkasan also serves modern Chinese fare at the front of the MGM Grand.
MGM Resorts also announced plans to close Fin, the Chinese restaurant at the Mirage, on Feb. 10. The menu there features contemporary Chinese cuisine including General Tso’s chicken or Kung Pao chicken and shrimp served family-style.
