Nearly every food-and-beverage outlet at the Palms is now part of the $620 million renovation of the resort, with Nove Italiano, the Italian restaurant on the 51st floor of the Fantasy Tower, next for the chopping block. The restaurant closes on April 13 to make way for Vetri Cucina, the Italian restaurant from Philadelphia chef Marc Vetri.
Vetri, who won a Best Chef: Midwest from the James Beard Foundation in 2005, serves a multi-course tasting menu in Philadelphia for $165 per person. Some dishes include a sweet onion crepe, tortellini pie, Swiss chard gnocchi, tagliolini with king crab and caviar, and whole roasted Dover sole.
Chef Geno Bernardo, who now heads up Herringbone at Aria, opened Nove Italiano with its incredible views of the Strip in 2006.
Aside from Nove closing, Café 6 at Palms Place plans to close from March 12-27 for a renovation. Once it re-opens on March 28, the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
