The Blvd Market concept headed to the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas just got a whole lot bigger. First revealed back in December, initial plans called for a revamp of the second level former Race & Sports book to create a 3,160-square-foot dining section.
Located opposite China Poblano and next to the Marquee nightclub entrance, updated paperwork now calls for the market to extend below to level 1.5 and upward into level three. The early estimated construction budget has been set at $2 million.
All yet-to-be confirmed by the resort, last December Portland, Oregon’s Lardo preemptively let slip that chef Rick Gencarelli would be expanding his growing specialty pork sandwich empire to the Blvd Market space. He will join fellow third-floor residents, Holsteins, Milk Bar, Momofuku, and the enormously successful Eggslut, which prompted the recent addition of a designated seating area for casual diners next to the Chandelier Bar.
How the three-level project will impact the existing resort layout has not been determined.
And on the the third floor, early word on another new venture, believed to be filling the vacant D.O.C.G. restaurant footprint. Currently assigned the generic name of “Chinese restaurant,” work will begin this month on the interior demolition. Further details and a timetable for its completion have not been announced by the Cosmopolitan.
