FREMONT EAST — Carson Kitchen has plans to open additional restaurants outside of Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the restaurant has eyes for a location north of Atlanta, as well as a dozen other locations nationwide. The restaurant in Downtown Las Vegas was one of the final to open from Kerry Simon, who died in 2015 after complications related to a severe and rare form of Parkinson’s disease called MSA, multiple system atrophy. The RJ reports that Cory Harwell, who partnered in Simon Hospitality Group with Simon’s three brothers, bought out the family members and created Eleven Hospitality Group with Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, and Zappos execs Fred Mossler and Keith Glynn. All new restaurants will not feature the Simon brothers. Scott Simon joined the Fremont East location as the executive chef in December. The restaurant went through a renovation earlier this year.
