“Avid gamer” chef José Andrés launches his fifth Las Vegas dining concept this week, inside the “30,000-square-foot, multi-level” Esports Arena at the Luxor.
Designed for both the professional video-game player and the curious visitor, the “gamer-inspired menu” will be available to anyone entering the former home of the LAX Nightclub, just off the casino floor.
Players can discover the “competition stage, 50 foot LED video wall and daily gaming stations” for free during “standard operating hours” and sample dishes Andrés describes as “delicious, but also practical for the gaming environment.”
Serving “portions crafted with efficiency in mind,” earlier this year, the chef revealed “the development process has been a lot of fun as we determine what gamers will want to enjoy while playing.”
Those choices are now overseen by executive chef Matthew DiBari, former sous chef at Jaleo by José Andrés at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
The arena also includes a “classic video game bar” featuring vintage arcade favorites like Pac-Man, but hands-on access to the contemporary video games requires the purchase of a $25 all-day gaming pass.
