Bienvenidas! A New Taco Restaurant Arrives Downtown

Owner and chef Robert Solano’s expansion downtown will be holding the grand opening on April 3, but for those eager for an early sample of the menu, Bomb Tacos is now open a short walk from the Container Park.

Debuting a year ago in Spring Valley to much acclaim, the downtown Bomb Tacos takes over the shuttered 1,414-square-foot former home of Two Bald Brothers and Zydeco Po-Boys at 616 E. Carson Ave.

The impossible-to-miss exterior color scheme and interior design are also Solano creations, featuring “tin walls, brightly colored furniture, Mexican artwork” and accents either hand-painted or built by the chef.

On Tuesday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., the first 250 people in line will “receive a free taco and drink” and the day will continue with live music and “prizes.”

On the hit menu, “crispy beef brisket tacos, Baja style fish tacos, wet burritos, carne asada fries, nachos, and tortas,” plus Mexican drinks like Jarritos and horchata.
