Long in the works and finally confirmed back in January, the frontage of Michael Mina at the Bellagio is undergoing a substantial transformation that will open the restaurant to the the resort’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens.
Currently under construction, but assuring guests the upgrades will not impact its evening dinner service, the seafood restaurant is creating a new raw bar to take advantage of the million dollar views. Included in the project, new flooring, ceiling, finishes, and food service equipment. An early October 2017 permit application had allocated an estimated $556,633 for the structural makeover.
Launched as Aqua on opening day at the resort, the name was switched to Michael Mina in 2004, continuing its role as the flagship local restaurant for the chef. A completion date has yet to be announced.

Elsewhere on property, Wolfgang Puck’s Spago is pushing toward a summer debut, replacing the dimmed-light interior of Olives with a new “sleek look and feel,” adding “floor-to-ceiling floating glass windows” and emphasizing the “picturesque views of Bellagio‘s famed lake.”
