You have probably enjoyed Carl’s Donuts in Las Vegas without knowing the name or the history behind the dozens of doughnuts, pastries and desserts found in local casinos, restaurants and stores. And now they are back serving directly to the public, inside their very own doughnut shop.
Launching in a local variety store, Wonder World, in 1966, Carl’s Donuts became so popular they switched over to wholesale only operations 20 years ago, eventually creating a 23,000-square-foot bakery.
The new store in the southeast, a short distance from Wayne Newton’s Casa de Shenandoah attraction, features “a wall” of doughnuts, Stumptown Coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice and “locally-produced Anderson Dairy Milk products.”

But the main attractions are the sweet treats. Customers can watch the creation progress through a window into the bakery and choose from a large selection, including “raised,” “cake,” and “fancy” favorites, iced or filled, pastries like croissants and raisin rolls, cookies, brownies and muffins and the bi-monthly doughnut specials, currently including “toffee crunch” and “lemon shortbread.”
