FORUM SHOPS AT CAESARS — Los Angeles seafood institution Water Grill takes over the former home of Spago at the shopping center. The original location in Downtown L.A. debuted in 1989 with a raw bar, 10 types of oysters, crab cakes, sea urchin, Bay scallops, and specialty dishes such as fritto miso, shrimp and grits, ragout, and squid ink pasta, all served in an Art Deco setting. Lunch and brunch options are also on the menu. The restaurant chain from King’s Seafood Co. has four locations in California and one in Dallas. Look for a 2019 opening. Spago moves to the Bellagio this summer. [LVRJ]
SOUTHEAST — A third location for Paymon’s Mediterranean Cafe & Hookah Lounge heads to 8955 S. Eastern Ave., opening in late May or early June. Athens fries, moussaka, saganki, and other Mediterranean favorites makes the menu. [LVRJ]
SAN DIEGO — Off the Strip, the restaurant at the Linq Promenade, heads to the Gaslamp later this month. Family recipes from the restaurant’s founders, including chicken parmigiana, beef Stroganoff, and short rib ravioli join new vegan and vegetarian options. [Eater SD]
