Monta Chaya was slow to keep its loyal customers informed of its imminent demise last summer, but the southeast Las Vegas favorite has been true to its word about a return to the immediate neighborhood.

Less than half a mile from its original location at the Beltway Plaza on Eastern Avenue, the new Monta Chaya will take over the shuttered Crêpe Expectations space at the Sansone Park Place retail center, also on Eastern.

Monta Chaya had been hosting a “pop-up” ramen project from midnight to 3 a.m. inside Marugame Monzo on Spring Mountain Road, but finished its residency over the weekend. Sibling restaurant Monta Ramen continues to operate in Chinatown.

Yet to confirm the new location, or possible opening hours and menu changes, Monta Chaya will admit to “exciting news coming soon” and assured fans, “we promise it will be worth the wait, we want this to be perfect!!”

Debuting in 2013, the original served authentic Kurume-style, tonkotsu ramen, highlighted by broth made from pork bones, a culinary rarity for the area.
