Honolulu’s Matcha Stand Maiko is almost ready to being serving in Chinatown and still has its eyes on a Henderson expansion.
A huge hit among tourists and locals for its very green ice cream and floats — all created with finely ground green tea leaves imported from Uji, Kyoto’s Harima Garden — in Las Vegas the name will be slightly changed to Matcha Cafe Maiko.

Taking over the former Snow White Cafe at 3400 S. Jones Blvd., close to Chada Thai & Wine, the interior features custom-made tables and plenty of props for diners to hold while posing for social media photographs.
Promising a May debut and already testing its wares on invited guests, the future menu is expected to include soft ice cream, parfaits, lattes, frappes, “kokuto” or brown sugar gelatin creations and hot matcha drinks.
A yet to be revealed Henderson location is being promoted as opening before the end of the year.
