Fans of Marugame Monzo, the famous udon restaurant out of Los Angeles, will have to make the trek to LA to pick up those amazing udon dishes instead of making the drive to Chinatown. On Friday, the restaurant posted on Facebook its plans to close.
That means no more of the dishes LA Times food critic Jonathon Gold once said, “elevated the udon noodle to cult status.”
Maugame always had long lines since opening last year in January. Come mid-May, it becomes Ramen Kobo & Sake.
