Mandarin Oriental Sold to a Mystery Buyer

Plus a new Vegas-based TV show and new owners for the Mt. Charleston Lodge

MANDARIN ORIENTAL — A mystery buyer shelled out $214 million in cash to buy the resort from CityCenter Holdings LLC, a venture between MGM Resorts and Infinity World Development Corp. The sale includes Twist by Pierre Gagnaire, MOZen Bistro, Mandarin Bar, spa, meeting space, 392 guest rooms, and 57 suites. [Hotel Business]

TV — The Food Network showcases Las Vegas on a new show dubbed Vegas Restaurant Rehab. Restaurant and hospitality consultant Kelley Jones rehabs the Blue Ox Tavern on Sahara Avenue and Jones Boulevard along with Sam Abram (who shot photos for Eater Vegas), a culinary consultant who revamped the F&B program with Kelley for the show. MOUNT CHARLESTON — Ellis Island bought Mt. Charleston Lodge in early April with plans to add an advanced draft beer system. The resort includes a restaurant and bar with space for 200. A new patio area is part of future renovations. [Vegas Inc]
