Get in line. The new downtown location of Bomb Tacos holds its grand opening, and the first 250 diners in line starting at 11 a.m. land a free taco and drink.
Executive chef and owner Robert Solano says his younger years in Mexico inspired this, his second location of Bomb Tacos. The Mexican restaurant takes over the shuttered 1,414-square-foot former home of Two Bald Brothers and Zydeco Po-Boys at 616 E. Carson Ave.
The impossible-to-miss exterior color scheme and interior design are also Solano creations, featuring “tin walls, brightly colored furniture, Mexican artwork” and accents either hand-painted or built by the chef.
Tacos range from $2.25 for carne asada and grilled chicken to $5 for shrimp diablo. Crunchy rolled and soft shell tacos join bomb nachos, asada curly fries, and wet burritos, all ringing in at $12 or less.
