It’s back, baby. After closing last June, the restaurant with what CNN called “the best chicken wings in the country” made a comeback. Bonchon Chicken serves Korean-style crunchy, crispy fried chicken served as wings, strips, drums, or a combination.
The 2,338-square-foot restaurant originally opened in August 2016 in the Rainbow Sunset Pavilion Center just north of the 215 on the west side of Rainbow Boulevard and features a 1,140-square-foot, covered outdoor patio space.
New management took over the restaurant that specializes in wings served in boxes of 10, 20, or 30 with a spicy or soy garlic sauce. Diners should allow up to 30 minutes for Bonchon to cook its chicken, and “sauces are not available on the side.”
Customers can start their meals with a salmon avocado ball, tokoyaki fried octopus, shrimp shumai, Korean tacos, pork buns, pot stickers, and more, all in the $6.95 to $11.95 range.
The Bonchon Chicken franchise was created in 2002 in Pusan, South Korean.
