The former chef at Chinatown’s Veggie House has returned to the district and launched his own all-vegan concept.
Taking over the shuttered Pho Kitchen at the Rainbow Center, close to the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road, Chef Kenny’s Vegan Asian Cuisine includes an indoor gazebo placed over one central table and framed images on the walls of chef Kenny at work.
Diners should note the early closing time of 9.30 p.m each night. The restaurant closes daily at 3.30 p.m for an hour “break.” A sign on the front door also asks that no meat or seafood be brought into the restaurant.
On the menu, 17 lunch special dishes priced at $8.95, including Chye’s spins on orange chicken, Kung Pao beef, and General Tzo chicken.
All day choices includes vegan sushi nigri, priced at $6 for two pieces, $11 special rolls, appetizers, soup, noodles, vegetables, and a roster of Chef Kenny specialties including Chilean sea bass, crispy beef, and curry duck.
