Italian restaurant Zeffirino closed without warning last December and in its place, Gondola Bar has launched with equally little fanfare at the Grand Canal Shoppes.
Created by the Fifth Avenue Restaurant Group, operators of more than 50 diverse local outposts, the new bar has changed little of the interior, but is now serving a menu of “unique crafted cocktails, craft beer and wine” and has been permitting customers free viewing of Golden Knights games.
Open daily from noon to 11 p.m. and until midnight on Friday and Saturday, themed specialty cocktails include the $12 “Venetian Sour,” $13 “Sparkling Gondola” and for night owls, a series of coffee-infused drinks such as the $13 “Fire Cracker” created with hot coffee, Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, Licor 43 and simple syrup.
The owners already run Johnny Rockets, Primeburger, Tacos & Ritas, and San Gennaro Burger inside the Venetian resort.
Right next door to the new bar, Fifth Avenue plans to open the Royal Britannia gastropub and Pizzeria Pronto, projects in the works since last November. Those venues take over the shuttered Tintoretto Restaurant & Bakery. Both projects are officially announced as “coming soon.”
