First, Chada Street with its Thai street fare closed in March. Now its sister restaurant Chada Thai & Wine bows out after almost six years on May 26.
Aime Wanmaneesiri, the chef and owner of Chada Thai, says that the wine collection goes on sale starting Friday 20 percent off, or 30 percent off 10 bottles or more. The award-winning list of 150 to 170 wines skew toward Rieslings and global whites.
Many of the dishes on the 50-item menu carry prices in the $10 range, meant to be shared much like tapas, so expect to order several to get a grasp of the menu that features mild, medium, and hot dishes.
Bank Atcharawan, the former sommelier of Lotus of Siam, launched the restaurant in Chinatown in October 2012, serving Southern Thai fare. Last year in April, he opened The Patio Desserts & Drink.
