BALTIMORE — Food Network personality Giada De Laurentiis expands her restaurant empire to the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore as she opens GDL Italian by Giada. Brick-oven pies and gourmet pasta dishes make up the menu at the 180-seat, 10,000-square-foot restaurant. De Laurentiis also has her fast-casual concept Pronto by Giada at Caesars Palace and Giada at the Cromwell here in Vegas. [Eater DC]
TV — ABC cuts the cord on The Chew, which will air one last season of the celebrity chef-hosted daytime talk show, Deadline reports. Chefs Michael Symon, Carla Hall, fashion consultant Clinton Kelly, and, until recently, chef Mario Batali host the show. Batali was suspended and ultimately fired from the show in December amid widespread reports of the chef’s alleged sexual misconduct that spanned two decades. WYNN — The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas launches a series of themed, month-long dining experiences. June features seafood with Alaskan Opilio crab legs, cracked Jonah crab claws, cod fritters, little neck clams, and a build-your-own sliders station, summer shortcake station and more. From June 29 through Aug. 2, barbecue dishes make the menu with smoked brisket; slow-roasted whole barbecue pig, smoked turkey legs; St. Louis barbecue pork ribs and more.
