Following months of waiting for an official announcement that never came, Due & Proper and Whist Stove & Spirits are finally confirmed to be out at The District at Green Valley Ranch.
The news adds to a bad month for the venues’ parent company, which recently shuttered its Vegas Seven online news presence. The weekly Vegas Seven magazine, overseen by Ryan Doherty and Justin Weniger’s Wendoh Media, ceased printing last September.
Sibling concepts BLVD Cocktail Co. at The Linq and downtown's Itsy Bitsy Ramen & Whisk have long been closed, now leaving Fremont East’s Commonwealth and Park on Fremont currently still serving.
At the district, Fine Entertainment will launch the fourth expansion for its PKWY Tavern brand inside the 3,000-square-foot, corner Whist space. Paperwork originally pointed to PWKY District taking over the 2,500-square-foot Due & Proper bar right next door, but the retail hub is now promoting it will be replaced by a brand new project also from Johnathan Fine, called Ritchie McNeely’s.
PKWY District has been recently hiring and installed nearby signs ahead of the switcheroo. Featuring a pub menu, more than 250 beers on tap, and plenty of promotions, the other PKWY venues stay open around the clock.
An estimated arrival for either location has not been revealed.
Update: Apparently Ryan Doherty and Justin Weniger “parted ways with their partner on Whist and Due & Proper in March 2015,” according to a publicist for the duo.
