Family run in Chicago for more than 21 years, Brasa Roja has expanded from its two original locations to Las Vegas, taking over a corner space in the middle section of the Commercial Center.
Replacing the former Italian Oasis Pizzeria, Brasa Roja has earned a loyal following for Colombian-inspired dishes, char-broiled steaks and rotisserie chicken, prepared with a marinade that remains a “closely guarded family recipe.”
Featuring an informal atmosphere and generous portions, a whole rotisserie chicken with fries is priced at $13.95 and $7.95 for a half portion, with the $14.95 char-broiled New York steak arriving with potato, cassava, and plantain.
Seafood selections include the fried red snapper and a “South America-style basa fillet in Creole sauce.” Diners can also select char-broiled lamb and a $13.95 breaded pork loin.
Sides include pork rinds with corn pancakes and a Columbian beef empanada.
For dessert, the restaurant offers a vanilla flan, figs with caramel, and plantain with cheese and guava paste. Not yet ready to serve alcohol, Basa Roja does pour juices made with milk or water and a range of Colombian sodas.
