Thomas Dantonio, chef and owner of The Blind Pig, has a new project in the works for Spring Valley, promising a grand opening for his “N.Y.C. Italian Bistro” is coming soon.
Bella Notte takes over the corner space at the Durango Plaza, replacing the shuttered El Mescal Family Mexican Restaurant at the intersection of Durango Drive and Peace Way. Permission has already been filed to offer outdoor patio dining.
With few full-service restaurants in the immediate neighborhood, Dantonio’s “casual“ concept will feature “both classic and modern dishes featured from all regions of Italy,” plus an “eclectic wine list.”
Already previewed for the menu, fettuccini alfredo with shrimp, pesto gnocchi, “Shrimp Diavolo,” linguini and clams, calzones, and a chicken parm sandwich.
No word if Dantonio will continue to work as head chef at both this location and The Blind Pig, still serving at the base of the Panorama Towers and until 2016, operated by Block 16 Hospitality.
