Originally touted as a shared project with the fourth local outpost of Poke Poku, the under construction Sea Salt Sushi & Oyster will now become the main attraction on the southeast’s Bermuda Road.
Work is being overseen by Chinatown favorites W G Constructors to turn the 3,260-square-foot empty space into a “dynamic” and “modern” concept, highlighted by “unlimited fresh oysters” and sushi.
Promising its menu will change seasonally and featuring seafood imported from the west coast and Europe, executive chef Eric Lee will also include à la carte options alongside the all-you-can-eat favorites.
Already revealed, sashimi, tempura, and meat and vegetable skewer choices, plus entree alternatives including chicken katsu and a 16-piece, chef-chosen seafood “chirashi.”
Quail egg and oyster shooters will join an eclectic list of appetizers, including butter grilled corn cheese, soft shell crab, Cajun edamame, and the eight-piece, not what you think it is, “monkey brain” dish. Generally that dish features a halved avocado stuffed with things such as cream cheese, tuna salmon, or crab.
Early plans call for the restaurant to be serving daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and opening at noon on Sunday. An updated estimated debut date has not been announced.
