A Second Cheba Hut Is Headed East

Chef Vic Moea closed his Maryland Parkway 7 Sinful Subs shop back in December, but a short walk away from the vacant space, the westside’s Cheba Hut will soon be expanding its own “toasted subs” menu to the Runnin’ Rebel Plaza.

Taking over the prominent corner spot, across the street from UNLV, Cheba Hut will slot into the distinctive former home of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The structure is already equipped with a covered patio.

Launched to “a very specific counter-culture” at the Sahara and Rainbow Center retail hub last year, the Spring Valley site also features a bar.

On the menu, a large variety of sandwich choices, available in four-, seven- and 12-inch “blunt” sizes, including the chicken and ranch “White Widow,” the “Humboldt” made with “guacamole and veggie,” a portobello “Magic Mushroom,” and the “AK-47” French dip. The restaurant also serves salads, and “munchies” including a hummus platter, French onion soup, and Rice Krispie bars.

An estimated opening date has not been revealed.
