A fast-casual brand has made its first entry into the Las Vegas market, promising “higher quality. Bigger portions. Better subs.”

Taking over a former Freddie’s Nutrition retail store, Jon Smith Subs debuts today at the Grand Flamingo Center in Spring Valley,

Founded in 1988 in Palm Beach County, Florida, the company is eager to promote a message of “NO pre-sliced, preserved meats or vegetables, NO pre-cooked steak, NO pre-cooked chicken.”

Unusual for a sub shop they are also well known for the “cooked-to-order” fries, priced between $2.79 and $3.49.

On the counter service menu, a long roster of choices served on soft bread, including the $10.99, 12-inch “Steak Bomb,” made with bacon, tomatoes and provolone; plus Italian, Cajun, teriyaki, and pepper steak variants and chicken choices including a $6.94, six-inch, maple bacon creation.

Grilled deli subs include meatball, kielbasa, hot pastrami, a Cuban, and also a “Reuben on Cuban” option and cold cut favorites and salads.
