Fifteen months after its debut in Chinatown, Tang Tang Tang 2 has expanded to the southwest, featuring its Korean menu that places less emphasis on barbecue dishes and instead earned a very loyal following for its ox bone soups.
Self-described as a “bunsik,” a modest restaurant serving inexpensive choices, the 1,760-square-foot space replaces MamaOH at the South Rainbow Square retail center on Rainbow Boulevard, close to Wigwam Avenue.
Specializing in traditional cooking methods, the soup menu includes beef brisket, ox tail, or ox knee, beef short ribs, and pork back-bone choices, plus entrees of steamed pork or pig’s trotters and braised spicy beef ribs.
Diners can also order barbecued beef stews served in earthenware bowls alongside imported Korean beverages.
