New casual dining options are moving into the Strip’s Fashion Show mall, some long in the works, plus a couple of recently added concepts planning to be completed over the summer.

Early paperwork has been filed to upgrade the Nordstrom departments store’s Marketplace Café, re-branding it as Jeannie’s Restaurant, according to permits processed last month.

Nordstrom allocated an estimated initial construction budget of $2 million to the overhaul. The 15-year-old cafe currently invites customers to take a tray and place their orders from the casual American menu. Yet to be announced by the store, a timetable for completion has not been revealed or details posted of how the changes will affect opening hours.

Right on the Strip, the long-awaited arrival of The Pizza Press, a Roaring Twenties newspaper-themed franchise, will take over the shuttered Wicked Slice space, facing Wynn Las Vegas.

Now promised to be opening “very soon,” diners can order “18 beers on tap, handcrafted desserts, and custom pies made however you like them,” served by flat-cap wearing “pizza publishers” and “editors.”

And Lovepreet Singh, operator of India Masala Cuisine in the mall's food court has two new ventures on the horizon: Wing Addiction and the cryptically named Cartel Takos. Both are officially “coming soon” to the third floor.

All will join California-based Honeymee, famed for its creamy soft serve drizzled with honey or pieces of honeycomb and also preparing to expand to The Grand Canal Shoppes later this year.
