Chicago import Brasa Roja debuted a full service Colombian restaurant at the Commercial Center only a few week ago and now locals New Granada has launched a casual tribute to Colombian street food favorites on the westside.
Located at the Campus Commons Food Court, close to the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive, diners order from New Granada’s counter-service window.
On the menu, “Overload Hot Dogs,” including the namesake “New Granada” built with the uncommon combination of sausage, mozzarella, quail eggs, bacon, corn, crushed potato chips, pink sauce, and pineapple sauce.
Peeled corn dishes include a choice of protein and can be paired with salchipapas, that add sausage to a serving of fries. Other specialties include “The Shi-Sha-Ron,” made with fried pork belly and a corn pancake, plus burgers, chicken breast sandwiches, and imported Colombian sodas.
