Announced in May 2017 and once planned for a debut this summer, San Francisco's The Slanted Door is now officially back on target for a spring 2019 opening.
Owner and executive chef Charles Phan’s “cutting edge” Vietnamese concept launched in 1995 and its expansion to the Las Vegas Boulevard entrance of the Forum Shops at Caesars was one of the most anticipated arrivals of this year.
Both the mall’s owners Simon Property Group and Phan’s restaurant are publicly confirming the delay and paperwork for the interior remodel was filed earlier this month, working with an estimated construction budget of $3 million.
The substantial 8,200-square-foot space sits close to Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab. It was set to neighbor the second local home of Border Grill, until the Mexican restaurant shuttered in May.
Water Grill from Los Angeles will also debut at the Forum Shops during the same time frame next year, replacing the former home of Spago.
