Still “rockin’ and rollin’” since 1965, Henderson’s venerable Gold Mine Tavern is preparing to make some substantial improvements that will keep it pouring for decades to come.
Located at 23 Water St., across from the Lovelady Brewing Company, Gold Mine intends to build a two-story addition behind the current outdoor patio, creating its own second-floor patio, overlooking a new terrace. Among the proposed improvements to the existing tavern, a new kitchen, back of house areas, and necessary improvements to the aging tavern interior.
No changes to the famed 80-foot wood bar are expected, nor the tavern's solid commitment to providing live music and entertainment, but locals and visitors should look forward to a new dining menu.
Yet to be announced by the venue, an expected completion date has not been revealed.
Also to come along this stretch of Water Street, the under construction Juan’s Flaming Fajitas & Cantina, aiming for an October debut and the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels-inspired Hardway 8 sports bar, which will replace JJ’s Bar a short walk from the Gold Mine.
