The long wait for Jogasaki Sushi Burrito ends this weekend when the originator of the Mexican-Japanese hybrid finally debuts in the Southwest. Jogasaki throws open the doors at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at 7365 S. Buffalo Drive, Suite 115
Diners can pick up specialty sushi burritos such as the shrimp fiesta with surimi and shrimp tempura, the baby lobster with steamed langoustine, the popcorn baby lobster with a battered version of langoustine, and salmon ceviche. Vegetarian options also make the menu, along with kid’s dishes.
Customers can start their meals with spicy tuna nachos or salmon ceviche tacos, or choose their own ingredients for a sushi burrito. Everything rings in between $5 and $16.
Everyone should save room for matcha green tea churro sticks or cotton candy ice cream burritos.
The restaurant plans to be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The L.A.-based food truck pioneered the rolled wrap back in 2011.
Jogasaki joins Fist of Fusion Island Grill with its Filipino and Hawaiian dishes., The Goodwich with its sandwiches, and FukuBurger with its Japanese burgers worthy of a spot on the Eater 38.
