Since 1988, Paymon’s Mediterranean Cafe has been one of those local staples that fans turn to for Italian, Greek, and Middle Eastern dishes in Las Vegas. By 2004, a second location opened on Sahara Avenue. Now Paymon’s boasts a third spot, this time taking over 8955 S. Eastern Ave. with a menu of saganaki, moussaka, fesenjan, and, of course, cult-favorite Athens Fries.
Founder Paymon Raouf opened the original location on Maryland Parkway as a local deli with Middle Eastern food and beverages under the name Middle Eastern Bazaar. Several years later the name was changed to the Mediterranean cafe to reflect the cuisines in the Mediterranean region.
Paymon’s also packages and sells a line of spices and its Racy Red hot sauce from its very own spice company called the Spice Bazaar.
The new location features a pizza oven, which Jeff Ecker, the owner of Restaurant Consultants of Las Vegas that manages the Paymon’s locations, says “has been a hit so far” with Greek pizzas. The patio also has a garage door that opens to the patio from the bar. Of course, the lounge features hookahs.
Take a look around.
