Three restaurants are just about to make their debut in the southwest at the corner of Warm Springs Road and Buffalo Drive.
First up, FukuBurger, the beloved Japanese burger restaurant from Colin Fukunaga. He’s aiming for a July 19 opening. The namesake Fukuburger features an all-beef Fukupatty with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and a drizzle of wasabi mayo and Fuku sauce. Jazz fries with crispy garlic topped with brown gravy and crack sauce are a must-order. Bonus: Fukuburger adds a fire pit to the outdoor patio.
The Goodwich, the “stacked rite” sandwich restaurant, plans to open on July 9 with a launch party from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Chefs such as Forte Tapas’ Nina Manchev, The Kitchen at Atomic’s Justin Kingsley Hall, and Sparrow & Wolf’s Brian Howard plan to recreate a dish from their menus as a sandwich, and diners vote on their favorites that end up on the menu at the Goodwich’s Downtown location.
Jogasaki Sushi Burrito also has its signs up and its close to debuting. The L.A.-based food truck pioneered the rolled wrap back in 2010. The current truck menu includes salmon ceviche tacos, spicy tuna nachos, and sushi burrito variants created with crab, lobster, and deep fried soft shell crab. On social media, the burrito kings have teased the shrimp fiesta burrito, a salmon ceviche taco, and the 3B with spicy salmon, avocado, cucumber, and shrimp tempura wrapped with soy paper.
All three join Fist of Fusion Island Grill with its Filipino and Hawaiian dishes.
