The Vegas Golden Knights training facility lands a new coffee shop this summer, just in time to serve the wildly successful practice sessions that have drawn crowds to Summerlin’s City National Arena, across from the Red Rock Resort.
Planning for a September debut, The Breakaway is currently hiring for its “fun, fast-paced & high-energy environment.”
Run by the venue’s MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub, this will mark the first coffee shop for Bill Foley’s Montana-based Glacier Restaurant Group. The owner of the Golden Knights franchise’s dining empire includes 27 MacKenzie River pubs and six other diverse restaurants.
Additional details and opening hours for The Breakaway have yet to be released. During the regular season fans can catch members of team on the ice from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m “most days.” Free to attend, the crowds have proven so great at times, the Arena created a “first-come, first-admitted” policy for spectators.
The second floor MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub is open daily from 11 a.m. “to close” and features floor-to-ceiling windows for diners to view either of the two skating rinks.
