Address: 5020 W. Spring Mountain Road, Suite 6
Status: Open daily from noon to 9 p.m. Closed on Mondays.
Designed with a similar, light wood, minimalist sensibility as its sibling restaurant across the parking lot, the Mon Restaurant Group has debuted Chamon Matcha Salon at Chinatown's Seoul Plaza retail center.
Located next door to the Sagos Tavern, the Spring Mountain dining mecca is already home to Mon’s Kabuto Edomae Sushi and Monta Japanese Noodle House.
Building its Chamon menu around finely ground matcha imported from Uji, a Japanese city renowned for “producing the best quality matcha in the whole wide world,” all items on the compact menu are priced below $10.
Diners can order matcha or hojicha soft serve for $3.95, the “Chamon sundae” for $6.50 and $2.95 “petit desserts” of “creamy kinako mousse” or “mini matcha jewels.”
Ceremonial matcha is served superior and premium-style. Other drinks include coffee, latte and frappes, like the $4.75 “Royal Milk hojicha caramel” option and for non-caffeine fans, a yuzu sparkler or a seasonal fruit fizz.
