The major overhaul of The Buffet at T.I. is taking longer than previously announced and the resort is updating hungry diners they will have to wait until next month for the big unveiling.
Originally hoped to return on Aug. 8, the remodel allocated an impressive estimated construction budget of $3,636,601, with a new sports bar also taking shape on the western edge of the footprint.
Guests booking hotel package deals are currently being updated, the “Buffet at TI restaurant is closed for renovations now thru September 5.” Covering 12,575 square feet and room enough for maximum occupancy of 838, the delays are not unexpected considering the scale of the project.
Described as a “new market buffet” on its plywood, the venue is already hiring for “model cocktail servers” to staff the adjacent TI Sports Bar, expected to feature its own dining menu.
The buffet debuted with the Treasure Island resort in 1993. Before the closure, midweek guests paid $24.95 for lunch and $30.95 for an all-you-can-eat dinner.
