A Japanese-based rival to GameWorks and Dave & Buster’s is ready to make a big Nevada debut at the westside’s Meadow Mall. A second location is also in the works for Reno.

Set for the eastside of the mall, next to another new, unnamed tenant and a remodeled entrance for the existing Sears department store, Round1 is officially aiming for a 2019 debut. Part of the changes will remove the shuttered Sears Auto Center structure.

Earlier Round1 expansions have included bowling lanes, karaoke, ticket redemption games of skill, darts, billiards and ping pong tables, plus the brand’s extensive roster of Japanese arcade games, many of them exclusive to the American market.

While a possible menu has yet to be announced, Round1 offers a counter service collection of familiar favorites including pizza, burgers, wings, salads, nachos, churros and ice cream. A separate bar stocks draft and bottled beers and also serves wine and “shoju/sake mix drinks.”

Future opening hours and an estimated completion timetable have not been posted.
