Promising “the taste that you desire,” El Pollito Charro is now serving a menu of “authentic Mexican” dishes, built around the specialty of the house, charcoal-grilled chicken.
The 1,800-square-foot former home of both Chicago Cravings and Felipe’s Taco at the Lake Mead Promenade, sits close to the intersection of Torrey Pines Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard, a short distance from the better known Best in the West shopping center.
First time diners are suggested to try the chicken combination meals, including the eight-piece $17.95 whole chicken, $10.94 four-piece, and $6.95 two-piece selections. All combos arrive with rice, beans, tortillas, sauces, and grilled peppers.
Another highlighted choice is the $16.95 arrachera al carbon, an 8-ounce steak with a full roster of sides. Also available, ensaladas, flautas, tacos, $6.95 bowls or burritos, the $7.95 “quesadilla supreme,” and chavindecas, made with homemade tortillas with asada and melted cheese.
