It’s official. A seafood restaurant and a gastropub close in early 2019. AquaKnox and Public House, the restaurants located in Restaurant Row at the Grand Canal Shoppes inside the Venetian, will close their doors on Jan. 16, 2019.
The shopping center and resort issued a joint statement: “AquaKnox, known for fresh seafood flown in daily from around the world, joined Restaurant Row in 1999. We would like to thank AquaKnox general manager Craig Leedom, executive chef James Defraga, and the rest of their team for their hard work and dedication.
“Public House, a beer lover’s haven and upscale gastropub, opened in 2012. We would like to thank our partners at Gen3 Hospitality and all their team members for their energy and many contributions.”
Gen3 Hospitality issued its own statement: “Since 2012, Public House located in Restaurant Row at the Grand Canal Shoppes inside the Venetian resort has embodied Gen3 Hospitality’s core values of customer service and commitment to our community. While Public House will cease operations on January 16, 2019, we will make every effort moving forward to create new opportunities for our family of employees, as they remain the foundation of Gen3 Hospitality. We’d also like to thank the Venetian for being a valuable partner during this successful six-year run, and we look forward to future collaborations.”
Vital Vegas originally reported the shutters on Monday.
The shopping center and resort did not announce a replacement for the spaces.
Gen3 Hospitality still has Holsteins at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Flour & Barley and Haute Doggery at The Linq Promenade, Elephant Bar in Henderson, and The Barrymore at the Royal Resort. Its Blind Pig closed in July.
The restaurant closings come on the heels of Carnevino at the Palazzo, B&B Ristorante at the Venetian, and Otto Enoteca e Pizzeria at the Grand Canal Shoppes departing in July.
