Right on target, the second local expansion for the Joe Maxx Coffee Company will meet its promised deadline and host a “grand opening” on Friday, Aug. 31.
Located four miles to the southeast of its original space at 500 E. Windmill Lane, the Henderson site is next door to Chicken Shack at the Spencer Crossing retail center, close to the intersection of St. Rose Parkway and Spencer Street.
Featuring a menu of “coffee, tea, pastries, and more” served daily from 6.30 a.m., choices include, “hot classics,” “signature pours,” prepared both hot or cold and frozen frappés or smoothies.
A new menu has yet to be unveiled, but breakfast sandwiches, bagels, muffins, wraps, and quiches have joined a collection of vegetarian or vegan-friendly options, including a recent “donut burger” available for a limited time, built with vegan bacon and dairy-free cheddar cheese, sandwiched between a Ronald’s Donuts creation.
The Windmill Lane walls have also become an informal gallery for pieces created by local artists.
