Good and bad news for fans of Jollibee fried chicken, as the Filipino fast-food experts grow closer to launching a third local expansion, but have yet to begin construction on the fourth.
First to debut, the 2,500-square-foot site right at the entrance to the Southwest Marketplace retail hub has been in the works for more than a year at the intersection of Windmill Lane and Rainbow Boulevard. While hiring began in June, a promising sign for an imminent debut includes a new search for applicants for its “Restaurant Crew.”
In Henderson, diners will need to be more patient. A move to the Eastern Commons retail center has now been confirmed and paperwork filed for permission to start building the 2,941-square-foot structure. This expansion will sit on the Eastern Avenue wing of the parking lot, across from a Jack In the Box and a short distance from the recently opened Seafood City.
Jollibee already operates inside the eastside’s Seafood City supermarket and at a smaller location at Village Square,
The Henderson space expects to be open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and both restaurants will be adding a drive-thru and an outdoor patio seating area, plus a menu of “Chickenjoy” fried chicken, spaghetti, “fiesta noodles,” peach mango pies, halo-halo desserts, and “breakfast joys.”
